Nate Andrews says he is ready to shine at tonight’s CES MMA 36 headline fight at Twin River Casino.
The event is being aired on AXS TV and will see “the snake” Andrews take on Oklahoma native Luis Muro (4-1, 1KO) in the newly arranged headline fight.
Andrews was moved onto the headline bout after his team mate Luis Felix, who was originally due to defend his CES MMA Lightweight title, sustained an injury.
The injury ruled Felix out of his proposed fight with Jairo Soares, the Brazilian challenger who was also caught up in a licensing issue.
This forced CES MMA to reshuffle the schedule of the event, which worked out well for Andrews (8-1, 5 KO’s) who will now lead the event.
Andrews, whose last bout saw him stop CES MMA champion Julian Lane in March, said he was very excited to be taking part in the main event of the night.
After that career-defining performance, Andrews says he has been looking for such a big opportunity for a long time.
Andrews said that it will be business as usual once he steps in the cage and he will be looking to back up his last two wins since suffering his first and only defeat in August 2014.
His opponent, Muro said that he will have no fear in the fight, adding that he’s come a long way in a short time and will ‘take care of business’ come fight night.
The main card will also feature lightweight Matt Bessette (18-7, 5 KO’s) who will face New Mexico’s Ran Weathers, the veteran has 40 fights under his belt.
Weathers’ last fought in April on the CES MMA 35 under card in Massachusetts.
Ryan Sanders (10-7, 1 KO) has also seen his opponent change after Felix withdrew from CES MMA 36 earlier in the week. He will now face former UFC veteran Levan Makashvili (10-2-1, 5 KO’s).
