In an interesting development to the ongoing saga of McGregor vs Mayfield, it would seem that Conor McGregor has managed to negotiate a mutually satisfying deal with the Zuffa LLC to bring the fight between the biggest names in MMA and Boxing a step closer to happening.
Speaking to themaclife.com earlier today, Conor McGregor confirmed that the deal was done and signed off.
“It is an honour to sign this record breaking deal alongside my partners Zuffa LLC, The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Paradigm Sports Management,” McGregor said.
“The first, and most important part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on. Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.”
The news was confirmed by UFC President, Dana White, last night during an interview on ‘Inside The NBA’ when he commented, “The McGregor side is done. I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now. I’m not saying the fight will happen. I got one side done, now I’m starting to work on the other. If we can come to a deal with [Al] Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s gonna happen.”
According to a previous statement from Dana White, Conor is set to earn around $75 million dollars from what, if it happens, will be the most hyped sporting event the fight world has ever seen.
At this point, Floyd Mayweather and his management team have yet to comment, but as always, it’ll be all about the money, so it’s surely just a matter of time before this thing happens…
