The BAMMA 27 fight card continues to take shape with the announcement of three new bouts including one title fight.

BAMMA 27: Lonsdale Lightweight Title Fight

The Lonsdale Lightweight title is currently vacant but that is going to change in Dublin. Rhys “Skeletor” McKee and Jai Herbert are the two fighters are putting their undefeated records on the line.

Northern Ireland born fighter Rhys McKee is undefeated in four fights and last fought in September at BAMMA 26. Here he defeated the much more experienced Tommy McCafferty by TKO despite The Ghost having him in a leg lock submission. McKee is from the same Northern Ireland gym – Next Generation – as BAMMA 27 main eventer Alan “The Apprentice” Philpott.

McKee’s opponent Jai Herbert is also undefeated in four fights with his last two wins coming at BAMMA events. His last action in the cage came at BAMMA 25 where he defeated the much lauded Tony Morgan. Prior to that Herbert defeated Ben Bennett at BAMMA 23.

Ian Cleary vs Andrew Lofthouse at BAMMA 27

Bantamweight’s Ian “Concrete” Cleary and Andrew “Lofty” Lofthouse will both make their pro-MMA debuts at BAMMA 27 when they face each other. Clearly is a native Dubliner and will have the crowd on his side. Lofthouse comes from a Muay Thai and K1 background and has recently made the switch to MMA.

Keith ’The Butcher’ McCabe vs. Richie Kieley at BAMMA 27

The third bout added to the BAMMA 27 fightcard this week is Keith ’The Butcher’ McCabe vs. Richie Kieley. McCabe currently has two wins and two losses to his name and comes off a winning debut against Aiden Brooks at the last BAMMA event. McCabe will be looking to use his experience against an opponent making his pro-MMA debut. Another Dublin native, Kieley fights out of the famous SBG in Dublin so he certainly has the pedigree to make a mark on the big stage.

BAMMA 27 takes place in Dublin on December 16th in a joint promotion with Bellator 169. Headlining the card are Alan “The Apprentice” Philpott and Tom “Firekid” Duquesnoy where they will unite the BAMMA and Lonsdale bantamweight titles.

BAMMA is going from strength to strength right now and they recently announced a partnership with Unilad to stream events on social media.
