A Norfolk-based fight promotion with big ambitions, Contender 19 takes place this Saturday at the Norfolk Showground between 6.40 and 10.30 in front of an enthusiastic and vocal crowd. There will be 16 fights on the card and tickets are still available from www.contendersea.com and the event will be live-streamed from the site too.
A quarter of the 16 fights on the night are title fights – Ben Sell defends his K1 youth 61kg strap against Jack Purdy and Piotr Panczak defends his 77kg belt against David Balogh. The top two fights are also for vacant belts, with Tia Sayer fighting Stevi-Ann Levy for the 61kg boxing title, while Corrin Eaton and Modestas Andrijauskas face off for the 66kg K1 crown. In a departure from Condender’s usual cage based MMA, this event is focussing on K1 and Boxing bouts, with the action taking place in a 21-foot championship-sized boxing ring.
The main event sees Ipswich’s Corrin Eaton – an MMA fighter by trade[ 9-2 1NC] in his first K1 fight face Modestas Andrijauskas, who fights out of Team Nogueira in Great Yarmouth. Meanwhile, the co-main event pits Stevi-Ann Levy face kickboxer, Tia Sayer for the 61kg title.
