Brooklyn born Women’s WBC international female super bantamweight champion, Heather Hardy has already made a huge name for herself in the Boxing world, and is set to make the transition to MMA after signing with the Bellator promotion.
Hardy was previously signed to Invicta FC and was supposed to debut for them in January, but her opponent pulled out due to injury and the initial deal was for that one fight only. Subsequently, Heather has signed to the larger promotion and will debut on their Bellator 180 show at Madison Square Gardens in New York on July 24th.
Hardy will face Alice Yauger [4-5] on the prelims. Yauger lost to her last opponent Jessica Middleton, but still has significantly more MMA experience. Hardy, though making her MMA debut, is 20-0 in Boxing, with four of her wins being knock-outs. Her Bellator 180 debut will be fought at Flyweight.
Bellator 180 will be headlined by a ‘grudge match’ between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, while the co-main event pits Fedor Emelianenko against Matt Mitrione.
It seems as if Hardy will continue her Boxing career alongside any future MMA bookings.
