Stuart Austin is to face Extreme Fighting Championship’s fan favorite heavyweight, Zimbabwe’s Elvis Moyo, who makes his return to the Hexagon on July 8th at the Superbowl, Sun City. Austin signed to EFC with an impressive 11-3 record as a heavyweight mixed martial artist. He has featured in other large American and British promotions such as Bellator and BAMMA, and is now out to dominate in Africa.
Super athletic Austin is known as ‘He-Man’ for a reason. All but one of his eleven victories have come from early finishes, a variety of KOs/TKOS and submissions. Dangerous from any position, it’s fitting that he will be making his EFC debut on the same card as the heavyweight title fight. A victory against the top five ranked Moyo could see him up against the champ sooner rather than later.
“I’m really excited to be with the EFC,” said Austin on signing. “I want to test myself against the toughest guys from around the world. EFC definitely has the best fighters in Africa. I’m also excited to see how the African fans will react to me! Elvis is a very strong and powerful knockout fighter with a good chin. I’m gonna’ finish him!”
Austin faces one of the heaviest hitters the organisation has seen. An African boxing champion, Moyo knows the art of the KO. Driven to perfect his MMA craft he consistently makes improvements and adjustments at every appearance. In one of the greatest heavyweight fights in EFC history, he was inches away from finishing current champion Andrew Van Zyl. Zimbabwe’s Moyo is determined to make it back to the top.
Moyo vs Austin takes place on the EFC 61 main card, just ahead of the much-anticipated heavyweight and light heavyweight title fights.
