Sage Northcutt isn’t the only member of the Northcutt family to have their eyes set on a UFC belt. His elder sister, Colbey Northcutt also has aspirations to take gold in the Octagon – and she’s set to make her professional MMA debut imminently.
Colbey Northcutt, aged 24, has also been practising martial arts since she was seven years old – presumably, like Sage, under the tutelage of her father, Mark – she’s already earned many points fighting victories and was named Black Belt Magazine’s Competitor of the Year in 2009.
Colbey has black belts in both Taekwondo and Kajukenbo and a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu, and she currently boasts a 4-1 amateur fight record in MMA. She is set to make her debut, fighting at 135lbs, in June on US promotion, Legacy Fighting Alliance, although, there is no news on who her opponent will be at this time.
Whilst being interviewed back in 2013, Colbey Northcutt already had her sights on the UFC, saying, “That is my goal – to fight in the UFC and be a UFC champ. That was my dream long before women were in the UFC. Hopefully that will happen in the next couple years.”
