Anne H’s son laments to mother: ‘We’ve lost a bright light’

H’s son Homer Lafoon, 20, wrote in a statement: “My brother Atlas and I lost our mother. After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I am in deep, wordless sadness. I hope my mother is free from pain and suffering. I wish her eternal freedom. I began to explore what I wanted to imagine.”

A week after the accident, H is “brain dead,” but remains on life support, according to a statement from his family and friends, as his representative shared with CNN.

Under California law, H is presumed legally dead because of his medical condition.

H has not been taken off life support, so they have time to determine if he is suitable for organ donation, according to the representative.

In an earlier statement on Thursday night, the family said Hche had been “long enough” to donate his organs.

“We have lost a bright light, a kind and very happy soul, a loving mother and a loyal friend,” the family’s previous statement said. “Annie will be greatly missed, but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic work, and her passionate advocacy. Her courage in always standing her ground and spreading her message of love and acceptance will have a lasting impact.”

A representative of the family said H suffered a severe anoxic brain injury, which deprives the brain of oxygen, as a result of the accident.

A woman who was inside the home at the time of the crash suffered minor injuries and sought medical attention, Lee said.

In their message on Thursday, Hech’s family and friends thanked his care team at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital and paid tribute to Hech’s “big heart” and “generous spirit.”

“More than her extraordinary talent, she saw it as her life’s work to spread kindness and joy — especially moving the needle on accepting the person you love,” the statement said.

H rose to fame on the soap opera “Another World” from 1987 to 1991, where she played the dual roles of Vicky Hudson and Marley Love. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for her performance on the show.

He followed up that success with several films opposite Harrison Ford, including “Donnie Brasco,” “Walk the Dog” and “Six Days Seven Nights.”

In recent years, H has appeared on television shows such as “The Brave,” “Quantico,” and “Chicago PD.”

Following the accident, there was an outpouring of support for the actress from the Hollywood community. Her ex and former “Men in Trees” co-star James Tupper, with whom she shares one of her two sons. Instagram: “Thoughts and prayers tonight for this beautiful woman, actress and mother Anne H.
